Chromatic abstraction with an architectonic vocation, vibrant formal solutions poised between geometric constructions and an expressivity of hypnotically energised iridescent colours, balanced tensions of vertical lines of dynamic drive held back inside of a blue grid. Piero Dorazio’s chromatic arrangements compose structures that define themselves in the synergy of vertical and horizontal lines conceived to harness the viewer’s eyes within and beyond the mental architectures of unexpected perspectives, in which improbable “spikes of grain” transform painting into an “object” of vision: a prerequisite for a study of the variations of constant elements, shifting colour from expression to content.
