This Japanese colour woodcut was made after the water colour "Kleiner Palast der Krankheit" of 1961. Translating this very freely painted image, which consists more of colour surfaces than of lines, into the woodcut required an extremely complicated approach. Nakamura (jr.), who printed the "Kleiner Palast der Krankheit", produced about 20 plates. The elaborate colouring-in resulted in an extraordinary sheet.
