We are grateful to Dr. Hermann Jedding, Hamburg, for confirming the attribution of the present painting. Dr. Jedding assumes that the present painting was executed rather late, around 1730. He compares it to works by the artist in the Historisches Museum der Pfalz in Speyer and in the Residence of Würzburg (cf. H. Jedding, Johann Heinrich Roos, Werke einer Pfälzer Tiermalerfamilie in den Galerien Europas, Mainz 1998, pp. 263–65).
