From a batch of approximately ten pieces. Because of the complicated manufacturing process, this model was never produced in series.

Colani’s loop chair, cast from a single piece, combines the idea of a one-foot plastic chair (Saarinen) with that of a cantilever chair (Panton) and was probably the plastic chair that was most difficult to produce. The bubble-shaped seat shell is balanced on a single leg, which extends into the stand. In spite of the highly complex technical demands, an object of great elegance and rhythm resulted thanks to the movement of the loop. It was probably due to this demanding production process that altogether only ten pieces were produced, featuring different colours. Colani himself commented upon his Poly-COR: “The most complicated chair currently produced. A daring loop construction made with the aid of polyester injection.” Designs of this type, in which technology was fathomed to its limits, are associated with the future-oriented attitude of those days and the belief in the unlimited possibilities of the space age.
