You could drive me to suicide with the expression “intercultural painting”! That’s 1990s language. It’s as bad as “interdisciplinary”. Everything that reminds me of the 1990s is a nightmare. I’m simply a case of homelessness, and I tell myself that this is an advantage. However, I realise that I’m much more interested in the specifically regional than in the overall sameness. It’s depressing to see that at every art school the same thing is being taught, the same stuff being created. Every art exhibition in every country has the same galleries, and all museums exhibit the same artists.
You are right that I’m probably the result of many influences, however, I don’t consider myself lucky, but rather a special case…
