The central depiction of the present miniature may be based on a woodcut in the book of hours "Horae delpare virginis Marie II Usum Romanum" depicting the birth of Christ and printed by Kerver in Paris 1519; the central motif from the present miniature may have been overpainted. The sheet is different at the lower part and at right margin, but is individualised through the Lagensignatur D a1 at the lower right margin. Miniature and woodcut may have been executed in Paris at about the same time between 1500-1520.
