Joost Cornelisz. Droochsloot was a Dutch painter of village landscapes and history paintings. In 1606 he was admitted to the Guild of St. Luke in Utrecht, of which he became dean in 1623 and 1641/42. Whilst Droochsloot’s earlier paintings predominantly deal with historical or biblical subjects, the middle and later works mostly depict village roads with people celebrating.
