117 cm. A very unusual serpent figure, eating a human being. These figures collectively are called Bateba were commissioned by priests and diviners. They were believed to ward of disease and witchcraft. In Lobi villages these figures were kept in shrines as living personages that see, communicate and intervene in the life if necessary.
