Follower of Caspar Hirschely, 18th century
(Prague c. 1698-1743), Two still lifes of flowers in glass vases, one painting monogrammed and dated at lower right: JCH 1730 (36?), the other monogrammed at lower left: JMW, each 33 x 23 cm, framed
In terms of composition and style, the two present paintings are closely related to a pair of flower still lifes by Hirschely sold at auction in Paris in 1978 (later Gallery Richard Green, London). Fred Meijer, RKD, The Hague, who examined the paintings in the original, believes that they are autograph works by Hirschely.
