A rare cocktail cabinet/sideboard,
designed by Osvaldo Borsani, Italy, c. 1936, carved pear, light pink tinted mirror glass with acid etched decoration by Fontana Arte, Milan, cast brass handles, height 120 cm, width 135 cm, depth 46 cm. (DR)
This cocktail cabinet has two folding doors and a mirrored interior. It is supported on sculpted legs in the form of carved maritime creatures. The light pink tinted glass was only produced by Fontana Arte for a period of ten years.
Provenance: - private ownership, Aldo Tura, directly acquired from Borsani - private ownership Milan, purchased from Aldo Tura’s widow in the 1980s.
