A larger version of this composition (70 x 98 cm) was auctioned at Auktionsverket, Stockholm on 02.12.2005. Wigmana, who is thought to have been a pupil of Willem van Mieris, painted genre scenes and history painting. His nickname was De Vriesche Raphael, because his works could be compared to those of Raphael and Titian.
