True to the old adage - “keeping the best for last” - Porsche rounded off the 997 series by releasing the Speedster in 2010. Following the 356, 911 and 964, this was the fourth time that the Speedster logo had graced the rear of a Porsche. Underneath was a 3.8-litre engine that was boosted to 408 hp in the factory. The four-wheel-drive convertible was used as the foundation for the Speedster body, although it was only available as a back-wheel drive. The window frame is lowered by a remarkable six centimetres, and the folding roof can be operated manually as an absolute highlight. And for all of this, the Speedster only cost around twice as much as the convertible. Joking aside, it is a special model produced in strictly limited numbers that is virtually unattainable for mere mortals. It follows, therefore, that the cars are extremely coveted, especially as the production numbers for the successor model will be several times higher.

The first and - so far - only owner took possession of the Speedster from Porsche in Vienna-Liesing on 4 August 2011. Until now, he has enjoyed this exclusive open-air pleasure for just 12,800 km.
