1970 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller *

1970 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller * - Historická motorová vozidla

British cult estate with wooden upper bodywork!

The Morris Minor was launched back in 1948. The aim was to create a fully-fledged automobile at an affordable price. And the outcome more than fulfilled the objective, with the Minor becoming the British answer to the Volkswagen. The company offered a broad range of models, the most charming of which was certainly the Traveller estate, which debuted in 1953. The wooden superstructure - actually a pre-war feature - gave the model its affectionate nickname of “Woody”. Aft of the B-pillar, the bodywork consisted of a timber skeleton with wing doors at the back and aluminium panelling on the flanks and the roof. The Morris Minor Woody remained true to its automotive roots until 1971, when the last of its kind rolled off the belt.

This Woody is a late model. As a Minor 1000, it is powered by a 1,098 cc engine with a top speed of over 120 km/h. It’s actually a very pleasant powerhouse for chugging around, and a perfect match with the vehicle itself. The diminutive Brit leaves a tidy impression, both inside and out. The simple technology is reliable, or worst-case inexpensive. Even today, the estate manages everyday tasks with aplomb, even if it takes a little longer, although not because the car reaches its limits, but because there is always a passer-by to pepper the owner with questions about the ancient-looking vehicle. An endless source of good spirits that open doors and brings a smile to the faces of people around - regardless of where you take it!

VIN: MAW51265551, mileage: 68,812 mls (read), displacement: 1,098 cc/R4, power: 48 hp, colour: green/red (synthetic leather), gearbox: 4-speed, papers: Italian vehicle papers
