Provenance: 221st Kunstauktion Wawra 13. März 1911, lot 528. Carl Moll, Vienna, probably Arch. Wilhelm Legler, Vienna, Dr. Erwin Mitsch, Vienna, his heirs. A larger version of the hunting dog which is also signed was preserved in the Albertina (Inv. 29226) since 1941. The former Albertina sheet was returned in March 2012 according to the Austrian Art Restitution Act (§ 3) about the restitution of artworks from Austria’s Federal Museums and Collections (BGBI.1. Nr. 181/1998 idF BGB1 117/2009 (Kunstrückgabegesetz) to the legal successors of Dr. Armin Reichmann (1878-1942). The information on this sheet by Cornelia Reiter in her catalogue raisonné of Anton Romako published in 2010, No. 533 is not correct.
