The German word for sailor is ambiguous and is also a term for someone urinating.

The early collages do not really form a unified whole at all... To my eye, they are partly an expression of great oppression, but also partly an expression of mockery, often with a certain amount of cheerfulness and lightness as well... I was never really that convinced by Freud and this theory that one’s entire life stems from universal sexual roots - every door a phallus and so on - and the collages also mock this too...
