Germany, c. 1950, reduced cast iron and anodized aluminium construction, circular stand, fitted with one lighting unit, height approx. 166 cm, diameter approx. 23 cm. (MHA)
Between 1953 and 1968, Aicher was a teacher at the Visual Communications Department at the Ulm School of Design. Together with Max Bill, Hans Gugelot, and Dieter Rams, Aicher developed the visual design for the 1972 Olympics in Munich. This lamp model was realised as a limited series at the Ulm School of Design and never went into production.
