[...] Since all painters used canvas, I used it too. The point for me was not to abandon the canvas but what to do with the canvas. To make the work with the canvas and not on the canvas, which is to make painting by going beyond painting.
In my works, the canvas is one of the elements of the work as it constitutes it
together with other elements such as structure and colour.
