Private Collection, Germany
Literature:

This is yet another work by famous artist Andy Warhol - though so different than the others. Being represented in nearly every large public and private collection all over the world, this artwork of the renowned founder of Pop Art is a rather subtle drawing emphasizing his sketchy style of portraits without the bright colors of the well-known print series.
Drawn in the style of his print of Sigmund Freud as one of the Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century from 1980, this artwork is a calm reference in honor of a great Jew.
The initial print series was commissioned by Warhol’s friend and dealer Ronald Feldman, whose family’s roots are in Graz, Austria. In the beginning, over 100 hundred names of famous Jewish personalities were gathered on a list out of which ten personalities have been chosen for the series – one of them being Sigmund Freud.
The artwork of the distinctive Austrian founder of psychoanalysis who is best known for his methods of dream analysis draws you in to sit down in front of him, start up a dialogue and enjoy the mutual presence.
