The present sketch is comparable to Johann Michael Rottmayr’s altar piece for the former church of Saint Dorothea, Vienna (1702/06, today conserved in the Szépmüvészeti Múzeum, Budapest). The anonymous artist seems to have a connection to the German painter Michael Leopold Willmann (1630–1706).
