Lot Nr. 53

Carlo Marko der Jüngere

(Budapest 1822-1891 Moskau) Italienische Flusslandschaft mit Fischern, trägt Signatur C. Marko p. Ap. 1852 (wohl Carlo Marko der Ältere?), Öl auf Leinwand, 55 x 80 cm , gerahmt, (Rei)

Folgende Gutachten vorhanden:Dr. Gabor Bellak, Mai 2008. Dr. Kapocsi Sandorne, Mai 2008. Dr. Gabor Einspach, Juni 2008. Dr. Gabor Bellak schreibt in seinem Gutachten: (...) As for this concrete painting, its whole lyric atmosphere is close to that style that was practiced by both the senior and the junior Markós, but in accordance with the stylistic peculiarities (...), it is definitely a characteristic work of the Markó Junior. There is one point that gives reason for misidentification of this painting. The formula of the signature - C. Marko p. App. 1852 (=Carlo Markó pinxit in Appeggi) - is typical of Markó the Elder. Although the formula is typical, the character of the letters and numbers are very much like those of Markó Junior. The father did use more calligraphic, sharp-edged letters compared to the Junior's more roundish and looser letters. The Junior, during the years of his father's lifetime (until 1860) never forgot the sign "junior" or "filio" or "figlio" beside his name in the signatures. In this signature one may feel that there is a kind of correction in the "p. App" characters, and we have a good reason to suspect that there was somehting else written there originally (perhaps the "junior" or synonimes).
