"Macao Landcarpet", Entwurf Florian Pucher
, Entwurf Florian Pucher, Ausführung Zhemei Carpets, China, 2007/2018, neuseeländische Wolle, handgetuftet, Label mit Datierung, Signatur und Bezeichnung: 2018/ Macao 1/1, 340 x 250 cm. (DRAX)
Unikat aus der seit 2007 entwickelten Serie von "Landcarpets", alle mit unterschiedlichen Motiven basierend auf Luftaufnahmen aus den USA, Asien, Europa und Afrika. "Macao" depicts one of the most interesting cities of Asia. The rug is based on an aerial image of Macao and centered on the original Portuguese settlement zone, extending over recently added and developed areas of the city that host some of the most impressive casinos in the region. The rug shows the urban side of human intervention in our landscapes thus grey tones representing buildings are pre-dominant while the sea is a rich blue and forests and parks are held in contrasting green.
"Landcarpets" have been published widely on internet and in various print magazines worldwide and have been acquired by Museum Europäischer Kulturen in Berlin and M+ in Hong Kong. Each motif shows the world from straight above as we usually see it only out of the window of a plane. Based on satellite images and aerial photographs each 'Landcarpetö is a piece of nature captured to be touched.
