1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 S

1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 S - CLASSIC CARS and Automobilia

Demonstration model + 1 owner, unrestored!

In November 1967, Mercedes-Benz redesigned the S Class it had introduced only two years earlier and did away with its technical shortcomings by introducing the 2.8-litre model.
Internally known as W 108, the model set a new international standard for its class. The car radiates a quiet elegance without showing off, conveying a sense of relaxed wealth.

Painted a beautiful shade of dark green, the present Mercedes-Benz was first registered on 9 January 1968 as a demonstration model at the Mercedes subsidiary at Baden-Baden, before being registered by its sole other owner on 10 May 1968. Equipped with steering wheel automatic, power steering and electric sun roof, it promised smooth going. It also featured a portable “Telefunken” radio, which at the time was the latest thing, but has since become a rare oddity. In 1978, the 280 S moved to Austria with its owner. This S-Class is unrestored but nevertheless of impressive appearance. Owing to age, it has not recently been used and servicing is suggested. A 280 S with an impeccable pedigree, as quietly exciting and classy as it ever was!
