1959 Alfa Romeo 750 B Giulietta Sprint

1959 Alfa Romeo 750 B Giulietta Sprint - Classic Cars

Exciting Italian coupé with a little need of love and affection

At the Turin Motor Show in April 1954, Alfa Romeo presented the coupé baptised as the "Sprint” as a taster for its new model range. Franco Scaglione, chief designer at Bertone, had designed a form that became the epitome of Italian design. Allegedly, the trade fair visitors honoured this masterpiece with 3,000 orders for the car, where previously a total of only 1,000 pieces had been hoped for.

In 2006, the current owner purchased his Giulietta Sprint during a work visit abroad in Geneva. When he registered the Alfa in September 2006, the speedometer showed a reading of 78,433 km. The coupé had already undergone an extensive restoration. A number of photos show that the Sprint had been elaborately renewed. Invoices available date from the late 1990s. A subinvoice from October 1999 confirmed a complete engine replacement at 77.890 km. The engine had probably been replaced at this time with a later engine, but was correctly combined with the original carburettor. With his return to Austria, the current owner also took his enchanting coupé home and made preparations for type-licensing. Things in life change, as do priorities, and family and career eventually gained the upper hand. The Alfa has been given little attention over the past few years, and now it needs a loving hand with an italic inclination so that it can once again cast its spell to all. It shall certainly be worthwhile!
