1956 Austin A30 Countryman (no limit)

1956 Austin A30 Countryman (no limit) - Classic Cars

Whimsical British estate as a rare left-hand drive vehicle!

In 1951 Austin responded to the Morris Minor with an in-house technical revolution. The new A30 was the first car from Austin with a self-supporting body. In addition, the A30 offered four seats, each with its own door, and an external length of 3.46 m. In 1953 the range was supplemented with a coupé and in 1954 the van was introduced together with the Countryman. The new four-cylinder mass produced engine originally had 803 cc and 28 HP, could reach speeds of 70 mph, and could accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in less than a minute! About 7,000 Austin A30 Countryman were built.

As a left-hand drive this A30 Countryman is a real rarity! The fact that it is a real Countryman can be seen on the side glazing and the rear seat bench. In England, Countrymen were very often converted vans, since when the two-seater transporter version was bought a lot could be saved on taxes. Such conversions are recognisable from the presence of a ventilation gap in the roof. Real Countrymen are therefore rare and coveted. This little Austin comes from Spain where for many years it had just one owner. A number of photos bear witness to some extensive restoration work. An original operating manual in Spanish underlines its origin. The new owner can look forward to a quick deployment of the Countryman thanks to its recent successfully completed vehicle inspection. Although in England this comrade can still be seen, the quirky A30 on the European continent is quite an exotic which always inspires curiosity and enthusiasm!
