1978 Renault Alpine A310 V6

1978 Renault Alpine A310 V6 - Classic Cars

Meticulously restored vehicle in a classic sporting outfit!

Alpine presented the A310 at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971. It was equipped with a rear motor and a lightweight polymer chassis, but was far bigger and more luxurious than the A110 it was initially intended to complement. From 1976 onward, an aluminium V6 engine with 2.7 litres of displacement ensured smooth acceleration up to the top-speed of 222 km/h, making the A310 V6 the fastest series vehicle from France at the time.

This Alpine was registered in Switzerland on 1 November 1978 and then imported to Germany in 2004 with just 86,500 km on the clock. Later on it moved to Austria in 2007, having travelled 88,086 km. The Swiss owner had already added a sporting touch to its road handling by mounting broad tyres on classic Gotti rims, combined with Spax shock absorbers. Typical of the time is also the addition of a Devil exhaust system to the Alpine, which creates an impressive sound. All of this was extensively overhauled in Austria. The interior has been lovingly restored and the bodywork repainted. Numerous invoices from recent years confirm the maintenance work on the mechanics, brake system and chassis. All this love and attention turn the French sports car into an attractive alternative to the 911!
