1974 VW Passat LS

1974 VW Passat LS - Classic Cars

Unrestored Passat with probably original 75,500 km!

VW presented the Passat in late May 1973. The saloon was launched at the end of July, followed by the estate in January. Essentially identical with the group brother, the Audi 80, up to the C-pillar, VW placed its trust in a fashionable hatchback. But the company shied away from the decision for or against a tailgate, and ended up offering both, each in a three and five-door version. We know now how the vox populi decided. Naturally, customers could pick from three different engines in the beginning, combined with three sets of features. Ultimately, the Passat marked an extremely successful entry into a new vehicle class for VW.

This Passat was registered in Sweden on 30 August 1974. The original manual and warranty card are included. As a three-door version, this VW differs from the majority of its peers, even though the more luxury L features with the powerful 75 hp engine were popular. The colour combination of light blue metallic, combined with coral fabric upholstery, is a rare find. Elegance meets the wild 1970s. Largely still boasting its original coat of paint, the Passat has a magnificently preserved interior. This vehicle has clocked up just 75,500 km in Sweden, where salt is not used for gritting. Accordingly, it is in a good, actually excellent condition. It passed its Austrian registration inspection in 2017.

VIN: 3242344425, mileage: 75,500 km (read), displacement: 1,471 cc/R4, power: 75 hp, colour: light blue metallic/coral (fabric), gearbox: 4-speed, papers: Swedish registration papers and registration inspection from 2017
