1972 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 3.5

Delivered to Vienna; only three owners since 1995!
The discontinued 300 SEL with aluminium engine received a worthy successor in September 1969: the 300 SEL 3.5. Its V-8 engine delivered superior power, while the familiar air suspension ensured outstanding comfort, combined with the extended wheelbase. The tidy price - it cost approximately 50 percent more than a 280 SE - made the vehicle a prestige object reserved exclusively for those with exquisite taste!
This saloon was registered by a Viennese trading company on 15 February 1972. Thanks to its automatic column gearshift, the Mercedes offers space for five passengers and the driver, and comes with velour upholstery, as well as electrically operated windows and sunroof. So the model and its features are perfectly symbiotic. On 14 May 1973, it was registered by Hans Kraus, the founder and operator of the Vienna Urania puppet theatre, original home to Kasperl! After his death in 1995, the luxury limousine was purchased by the consignor. Between times, the SEL was repainted and still possesses a look befitting its status. Even the most worrisome component - the air suspension - seems to work smoothly. Originally designed for stately occasions, the vehicle still suggests the sophisticated lifestyle of the distinguished passenger settled into the right-hand side at the back!
VIN: 10998112007852, mileage: 23,751 km (read), displacement: 3,499 cc/V8, power: 200 hp, colour: beige grey-metallic/grey (velour), gearbox: 4-speed automatic, papers: Austrian registration document
