1956 Renault 4CV

Lavishly restored cream slice!
Rare Luxe model with folding top!
Renault launched the 4VC at the Paris Motor Show 1946 as a modern compact car with self-supporting body, five doors and a rear engine. The 4CV quickly evolved into France’s Volkswagen and remained in the programme until 1961.
The first series vehicles were cream/beige, which gave them their nickname of “cream slices”. But the 4CV was also a zippy little thing, winning races like the Monte Carlo, Le Mans and the Mille Miglia in its class!
This Renault 4CV was registered for the first time on 27 March 1956 in France. It comes with the Luxe features and possesses an incredibly rare folding top! A 72-year-old Renault master mechanic made it his life’s work to restore the diminutive French car to its former glory, rebuilding it laboriously by hand - with little or no concern for costs or reason. The result is a wonderful looker that is certain to turn heads. Already well preserved, the bodywork is now truly beautiful, while the original interior was preserved and now shows off a charming patina. A large trophy acknowledges the skill and effort invested in producing this result!
VIN: 2541546, mileage: 12,314 km (read), displacement: 747 cc/R4, power: 14 hp, colour: light green/grey (fabric), gearbox: 3-speed, papers: German registration papers
