Ferdinand Max Bredt: The artist studied at the Munich Academy from 1878 to 1880 with Bernhard Neher the Younger and Carl Häberlin, and from 1880 to 1882 with Wilhelm Lindenschmit the Younger. He travelled frequently to Greece, Turkey, Italy and Tunisia. Bredt was a founding member of the Munich Secession and was associated with the Osternburg colony of artists.
