Lot No. 10 V

1964 Vespa 125 (ohne Limit / without reserve)

1964 Vespa 125 (ohne Limit / without reserve) - Solo Vespa. Quasi.

In 1959 Piaggio presented its new 125 cc model. Internally called VNB it succeeded the VNA and became the new standard Vespa model. Its engine featured a rotary slide inlet and was 4,6 HP strong, which was enough for almost 80 km/h. The VNB was steadily developed in various series over the years. The fifth series was the first to have a 4-speed gearbox, with the final ratio remaining the same as before. Towards the end of production the engine compression was raised and the Vespa received a plus in horsepower to a little above 5 HP.

The Vespa VNB stayed in the Piaggio program for 13 years. More than 300,000 examples were built, which makes it one of the highest production Vespa models ever. Its qualities from then are still convincing today. Therefore it is one of the most appreciated entry-level models into the classic Vespa world.

This Vespa 125 was found in Italy in almost entirely original condition some ten years ago. All around it never ceases to amaze with incredibly beautiful patina, which guarantees for the most authentic appearance.

Chassis: VNB5T*024594*, Motor: VNB5M*026339*, Österreichische Einzelgenehmigung (Austrian papers)
