1969 Vespa Rally 180 (ohne Limit / without reserve)

1969 Vespa Rally 180 (ohne Limit / without reserve) - Solo Vespa. Quasi.

In 1968 the Vespa Rally 180 was introduced as the new spear-head of scooters, replacing the Super Sport. While it retained its predecessor‘s frame, the exterior was redesigned with more modern style elements already known from the 150 Sprint. For the first time on a bigger model the engine inlet featured a rotary slide and with 10,3 HP the Rally 180 was good for almost 105 km/h.

Only 26,495 examples were built in six years. With the introduction of the Rally 200 in 1972 the numbers dropped dramatically in the last two years of production. Being the former top-of-the-line model and even rarer than its successor the Rally 180 is among the most sought after rarities from Piaggio.

This Vespa Rally 180 originally came out of the United Kingdom. Despite already having Austrian papers it still carries its former English license plates and the rare Mph-Speedometer. The reason why it came all the from Great Britain is very simple: its outstanding and beautiful, original condition. The original paint paired with the most charming patina makes this Rally 180 one truly exceptional piece.

Chassis: VSD1T*007774*, Motor: VSD1M*007710*, Österreichische Einzelgenehmigung (Austrian papers)
