Herbert Gurschner’s marriage into the English nobility opened the door to London’s artistic circles, which allowed him access to important exhibitions and thus eventually his own artistic breakthrough. After the war, Gurschner concentrated on set design for well-known opera and theatre companies, including the Royal Opera House and the Globe Theatre.
