The motif for the lithograph of Moses and his People forms the frontispiece for the book of the same name which includes texts by Marc Chagall. The frontispiece format is accompanied by an edition of 50 signed and numbered prints on Arches vellum, with a sheet size of 53 x 41 cm, to which the present sheet belongs. (cf.
