We thank Ellis Dullaart of RKD for her suggestion of Jan Martsen de Jonge as the painter of the picture formerly ascribed to Palamedes Palamedesz. The prominent placing of trees on the righ-hand side are characteristic of this artist, as well as the drawing of foliage which is reminiscent of a painting by Jan Martsens im the Rijksmuseum.
