We are grateful to Davide Dotti for suggesting the attribution after examination of the paintings in the original.
We are also grateful to Riccardo Lattuada for independently suggesting the attribution after examination of the paintings in the original and for dating the works to circa 1680-1690.
This pair of paintings can be compared to another monogrammed work by this artist, a Still Life with fishes (see A. Della Ragione, La natura morta napoletana del settecento, Naples 2010, pp. 55-56, 125, fig. 133).
