Hermann David Salomon Corrodi was the son of the renowned Swiss painter Salomon Corrodi (1810-1892) under whom he first studied. He then enrolled in the Academy of St Luke in Rome. His patrons included the English Royal family, and he exhibited across Europe at venues including the Royal Academy in London.
He travelled extensively to the East where he painted numerous landscapes with vivid colors and strong light.
