Initial "A" with Saint Augustine and the infant Jesus, music staves on reverse, gouache and gold paint on parchment, 15.7 x 16.5 cm, mounted on backing, mounted, passe-partout, framed, (card)The figurative representations and the physiognomy of the present miniature likely originate from Gradualmaler B, who created most of the first volume of Neustift Graduales (under commission of Nicholas III. Scheiber and completed in 1442). The translucent staves suggest a liturgical manuscript as the originating manuscript.
