In front of Carolinen-Thor the socalled “Wasserglacis” was situated. It was a popular entertainment area and a favourite destination for strollers. The name “Wasserglacis” goes back to a health pavilion which provided one with mineral waters. Today this very spot is occupied by the area of the Stadtpark.
