The two paintings are typical of Antonio Diziani’s production and can be compared to the Landscape with spinner (Gallerie dell’Accademia, Venice, inv. no. 840) and the Landscape with bridge (Museo del Settecento Veneziano of Ca’ Rezzonico, Venice).
Antonio Diziani was the son of Gaspare Diziani and one of the most important artists of the rococo in the Veneto. He is mainly known for his vedute and landscape paintings. In 1774 he became a member of the Painting and Sculpture Academy in Venice. He was influenced by the works of Francesco Zuccarelli, Giuseppe Zais as well as Marco Ricci in particular.
