A Host of Saints

The present panel shows Saint John the Baptist and nine further Saints hovering on a cloud and is possibly a fragment.
Its painterly execution and carefully shaded underdrawing is of interest and it was likely to have been painted around 1510-20 by a Franconian artist, most probably a painter active in Nuremberg.
We are grateful to Christof Metzger for his help in cataloguing the present painting.
