Rare museum quality object from the fittings of the hunting castle Mayerling. The property at Mayerling was acquired in 1886 by Crown Prince Rudolf and converted into a hunting castle. The candelabrum comes from the original fittings of the castle as acquired by Crown Prince Rudolf. Objects from the original installation are extremely rare as following the tragedy of 1889 Emperor Franz Joseph I. had it converted into a convent.
