William Frederick Lake Price

Lake Price was trained by the architect Augustus Charles Pugin in depicting topographic views and architecture. He exhibited his paintings and watercolours at the Royal Academy and the "Old Watercolour Society". During the 1850ies, he joined the London Photographic Society and the Photographic Exchange Club. In 1858, he published many of his photographic portraits and he is considered to have invigorated photography during the second half of the 19th century. (Oxford Dictionary of National Biography)
