An armchair (“Bureau Chair”), a model used by Adolf Loos,
Vienna, c. 1900, probably manufactured by F. O. Schmied, c. 1905/10, solid oak, the backrest upholstered and covered with suede, lathe-turned legs, saddle seat, height 86 cm, width 60 cm, depth 65 cm, height of seat 46 cm. (DRAX)
This model, which is based on a design by the English company Collison & Lock and was adapted by F. O. Schmidt, was used by Adolf Loos in the study of the Haberfeldt apartment (Vienna, 1899) and in the Friedmann apartment (1906), as well as in the office rooms of the Manz’sche Universitäts- und Verlagsbuchhandlung (Vienna, 1912).
