A pair of floral still lifes in relief vases, both signed lower left: Gas. P. Verbruggen and Gaspar Pedro Verbrüggen,
oil on canvas, each 55 x 44 cm, framed (2)
Gaspar Peeter Verbruggen II was a pupil of his father, after whom he was named. Their works are hard to distinguish, but the signature “Gaspar Pedro Verbrüggen”, which is visible in this painting, was used only by the son. Both Verbruggens specialised in decorative still lifes of mostly large-format.
