1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Litre FHC Series 1

1967 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Litre FHC Series 1 - Autoveicoli d'epoca

Restored in Germany, matching numbers! The Jaguar E-Type was the star of the Geneva Motor Show of 1961. The stunning body was designed by Malcolm Sayer and has power and speed written all over it. The time-tested 3.8-litre engine was fitted with triple carburettors for extra power, the Moss gearbox was loud, but effective. The suspension was based on that of the D-Type racing car and made for racy road handling coupled with a noteworthy level of comfort. The 4.2 litre was unveiled at the London Motor Show in October 1964. More capacity, same performance, which means even greater engine power. On top of that, the 4.2 also featured a new, fully synchromesh transmission, as well as many minor improvements and new seats. Equipped with the finest technology available, the E-Type's appeal went far beyond its aesthetics. Today, it is considered one of the icons of automotive history! The present Jaguar was originally shipped to the USA as a very late Series 1 coupé. The E-Type only had a single owner during the period from 1980 to 2008 based in the Southern States, in Louisiana. Its first owner drove it until 1990, then put it into storage and finally sold it in 2008 as a restoration project to a purchaser in Germany. At the time, the E-Type still had all of its original components, and while the original engine and gearbox were in a really good condition, the bodywork was in need of some loving attention, and the mechanical parts of a thorough overhaul. The car's restoration was completed in 2013 after it successfully passed its MOT. The E-Type is now a classic British racing green combined with a green leather interior. Just in time for the auction, the vendor will be registering the Jaguar in Austria, which means that it will be ready to go on the road on Monday straight after the auction!
