1961 FMR-Messerschmitt KR 2001 (no limit)

1961 FMR-Messerschmitt KR 2001 (no limit) - Autoveicoli d'epoca

One of the craziest apparitions to appear during the era of the economic miracle!

From the Fend-Flitzer, developed in Rosenheim, came the Messerschmitt KR 175 which first appeared on the market in March 1953. The name itself garnered respect, and was perhaps a reason for its rapid sales success. In the spring of 1955 the much more sophisticated KR 200 appeared. With an engine power of 10 HP, the top speed was given as 100 kph. From 1957, the manufacturer branded itself as FMR, which still built this cabin scooter until June 1964, although more as an object for the connoisseur.

This Messerschmitt cabin scooter is a later specimen and was imported from Germany to South Tyrol a long time ago where it entered the private collection of Skilegend Gustav Thöni at Passo di Stelvio. The restoration seems to have been carried out a little longer ago, which gives this whimsical Messerschmitt an extra element of charm. Everything works as it should, and recently the cabin scooter was registered in Italy where it also passed its vehicle inspection. For those who are looking for an extraordinary means of transport, you’ve come to the right place! Formerly a cabin scooter was the dream of all cyclists and pedestrians, but today, almost 60 years later, it looks more like a UFO from a distant galaxy. Jet age design in Bavarian!
