![Johann Baptist Lampi I - Dipinti antichi Johann Baptist Lampi I - Dipinti antichi](/fileadmin/lot-images/38A180424/normal/johann-baptist-lampi-i-5136299.jpg)
(Romeno 1751–1830 Vienna)
Hebe,
oil on canvas, 76.5 x 61 cm, framed
Provenance:
with Galerie Arnot, Vienna (due to a label on the reverse)
We are grateful to Roberto Pancheri for confirming the attribution of the present painting after its examination in the original. He dates the work to the period around 1790.
The signed prototype of this composition (an oval) was sold at Im Kinsky, Vienna on 28 November 2013, as lot 62. A second (rectangular) version is in the Museum of Lublino, Poland. The present painting, the third version, probably comes from the collection of Baron Othon de Bourgoing, Vienna (sold at Gilhofer & Ranschburg, Vienna, 27 February 1936, as lot 153; see also J. R. Fournier-Sarlovèze, Artistes Oubliés, Paris 1902, pp. 91–116, ill. p. 105). The painting sold at Im Kinsky is an oval, so it cannot be the one from Baron Bourgoing’s collection, which is rectangular (see the reproduction in Fournier-Sarlovèze, op. cit., p. 105).
