various materials such as glass, metal and plastic, height approx. 125 cm, diameter approx. 75 cm. (MHA)

Reproduced in:
Design Hospital, Prodomo, Vienna, 19 October – 9 November 1991, exhibition catalogue, 13, Vienna 1991, ill. p. 22; and Paul Etienne Lincoln, Prodomo, Vienna, 27 May – 19 June 1993, exhibition catalogue, 15, Vienna 1993, ill. p. 15.

The Mineral Maid is the conquest of purity, rejuvenation, and general relief from the pressures of dehydration. It is customary to follow the rotating roller bar at a safe distance, and in some cultures it also precedes the procession as well. The main feature of the mineral maid is the girdle, which fits to the hips of the operator and is supported off of the tips of shoulders. Around the perimeter of the circular transport mechanism are thirty glasses which the maid may fill individually by rotating the glasses and priming their volume with magnificent Austrian spring water, which flows from a container reminiscent of an aqua-lung bottle strapped to the operator’s back’ (Design Hospital, Prodomo, Vienna, 19 October – 9 November 1991, exhibition catalogue, 15, Vienna 1991, p. 22).
