mahogany, red-brown stained, curved formal canon, with openwork decoration of floral motifs and arabesques; four coloured textile prints mounted on olive-green velvet; The four female figures were thus described in 1900: "The borders are worked out in such an exquisite pattern that each picture appears to be mounted in an elaborate frame of its own." The screen had been professionally restored and shows minor signs of age and use; marked four times with artist’s signature Mucha; height 157.9 cm, width 170 cm. (MP)
