A variety of coupés were added to the saloon shortly after the Flaminia was released. Pininfarina delivered the suave three-door version, Zagato a slightly more extroverted type and Touring a slender, elegant sports car in Superleggera design, for which an aluminium body was placed on top of a frame comprising steel auxiliary tubes, cutting 200 kg compared to the Pininfarina coupé thanks to the short wheelbase. At the time, Lancia was mentioned in the same breath as Ferrari and Maserati. Technically always cutting-edge, the luxury cars from Turin were virtually equal to their contemporaries from Emilia Romagna.

This Flaminia was delivered to Palermo in June 1966 and did not leave the Sicilian capital for over 35 years. After changing hands a few times, it remained with the same owner from 1978 to 2004. Afterwards, it was deregistered for a few years, before being purchased by the consignor in Germany in 2010. He started restoring the somewhat aged, but nevertheless enchanting coupé to its former glory. Although the Sicilian sun had protected the metal panelling, it had wreaked havoc on the interior, which had to be replaced. The engine was completely overhauled by Peter Bazille, the absolute Lancia specialist. Some of the original colour was also revealed during the work. And it wasn’t the silver that the Flaminia wore at the time, but this sensational, original Grigio Albany metallizzato, a grey metallic with a slight hint of green. So the coupé was entirely repainted in this shade, ultimately allowing the timelessly beautiful, elegant Flaminia to shine with the same resplendent glory as it did in 1966.
